IOP & OP Substance Abuse, Cognitive Restructuring, & DUI.
Substance Abuse:
Clients can choose between five weekly times to attend 1 hour groups, all held evenings and Saturdays. Groups address (1) The Change Model (2) Definitions, Damage, Dependence and Denial (3) Triggers / Coping skills (4) Thinking Errors and Cognitive Restructuring (5) Relapse Prevention and Recovery. Participants are encouraged to attend AA/NA support groups. Family support and involvement in the class is highly encouraged throughout the course. Licensed mental health therapists offer classes in both English and Spanish for both men and women.
Cognitive Restructuring:
This course covers (1) Tactics of Power and Control (2) Criminal Thinking Errors (3) Blocking Communication (4) Power Thrusting (5) Attitude of Ownership (6) Moral Inventory (7) Changing Thinking Patterns. The group is designed to help offenders recognize how their thinking patterns may have led them to deviant behavior and their current problems. When new patterns of thinking replace old thinking errors, more responsible behavior and happiness follows.
Driving Under the Influence:
The PRIME for LIFE DUI class is an interesting 16-hour face-to-face class, taught in four groups of four hours each. The PRI PRIME for LIFE program adheres to the Utah State curriculum for alcohol and drug education. Instructors are Utah State/PRI certified. We teach classes in both Spanish and English.
